Some random front-of-mind pieces from my week.

Arrived home on Saturday evening after 2 weeks in Australia with the fam. Had a really nice time just catching up with everyone. Stayed at Mum's new place on the northern beaches. Love the area, walking distance to beach and shops, close to trails to run and sister's family.

I was lucky to witness the first days of my neice's first steps, and her overcoming fear of sand at the beach.

I struggled with back pain (scoliosis) the whole two weeks, but first night at home and it was gone instantly. Insane how many beds are no good for me. Lucky I have found one that works.

We started another puzzle, which was horribly bland in colours so was very hard. It tested our abilities. We had plates of shades of colours all over the place, targeted specific styles of branches of trees (there were lots of trees) yada yada. I guess the difficulty ended up making it a different experience. We didn't finish, it so mum's got it on her own now. Looking forward to the finished photo.

🏃 Ran 46.7km / 2,070m profile - Half the distance from previous week, double the elevation. Got out to the Blue Mountains for a hot and sticky jaunt. Love making my way out here when I'm visiting the area.

🖌️ Created a 2025 calendar of some of my favourite photos of 2024.

💻 Website - Changed the style ever so slightly - made the text area skinnier and removed the double columns on the main page. I think the border looks a bit weird now so I might do some further tweaking this week.

💻 I wrapped up December Adventure 2024. I didn't really do too much, certainly not write code every day, but it did prompt me to just do some quick minor things which have helped with my website. I'll continue to plug away at the activity-post scripts I'm making. It's a bit all over the place at the moment, but I'm starting to get traction.

💻 Tools - Bit boring this week. I'm going to shout out to my own shell scripts. They allowed me to blog pretty easily while on holidays without intruding into family time. I still can't post from my phone, but the whole laptop experience is quite nice anyway.

📺 Watched

• Treadstone series 1 (2019) - I love the Jason Bourne film series and didn't know this TV adaption existed until I was flicking through the channels at mum's. I subsequently binged it in 3 days and absolutely loved it. It was fast paced with lots of close-combat scenes, unfolding a number of "asset's" stories across the 70s and present day over the 10 episodes. Unfortunately there was no second series. It seems like it was just bad timing in the industry. Shame, because it left it wide open for future episodes.
