Note: Elevation was more like 2000m. It's quite gorgey in places which causes multipath on watch tracking devices. The elevation profile is subsequently a bit warped.. the dips below 600m never happened.

A visit to one of my favourite areas out the North-Western end of the Blue Mountains. I try and get out here whenever I'm back in Aus. Today I intended to do a shorter out-n-back from Perry's Lookdown to Lockley Pylon and back via Shortridge Pass, but I got excited for being back, and went further up the valley.

The route yoyo'd across the Grose Valley floor from Perry's on the south side to Pierces Pass on the north, back to Victoria Falls on the south, then a return to Perry's. Three big climbs from the valley floor.

I was a little under-equipped with electrolytes, however luckily there was a decent amount of water in the creeks to drink. It was classic stinking hot Summer mugginess down the bottom of the valley so I jumped in a few swimming holes en-route. Cicadas were deafining at times:

Pie was from Con's Patisserie in Glenbrook.. a kangaroo steak pie I got on the way out to the start, before the run. Risky, but worth it. So delicious.
