I passed the exam. I'm a certified Cable and Infrastructure Technician. It hasn't changed anything in terms of the work I do - I already do a good chunk of what was covered - but it's a good wee milestone to hit 10 months into this career path.

The Integrated Systems Technician (IST) cert is likely my next step, but I need 1 year under my belt before I can sit that. At work I am doing a lot of the things the IST covers, so I don't think this will be a stretch.

The Residential Network Specialist (RNS) cert is the one beyond that, which is a bit more specific to network systems, and what I really want to dive deep into, so I'm pretty keen to take that path. I'm sure the boss will support all this.

It's all a kind of DIY apprenticeship, but it's a good little pathway by CEDIA that's giving me a grasp of the industry besides what I learn on site.
