ποΈ Weeknote 2025-W10

Some random front-of-mind pieces from my week.
π Ran 41.1km / 2,641m profile - A lot of cautious running this week as I have had a bit of pain in my left knee. Probably over-use and a bit of a flogging from last Saturday's hard run up and down Ben Lomond. Still, it's not a bad week anyway, just a bit slower.
π΄ Rode 45.1km / 520m - Substituted some running for riding on relatively flat grade 1 gravel trails. Was nice to get the bike out again. Though my butt hurts.
Did a 2hr rogaine on Wednesday evening up at the Coronet Peak ski field. I forget how much I enjoy these events. It is such a fun atmosphere, and good to have a little navigation thrown into a run. The events attract a broad range of people, from small families to full-blown elites. This 3 week series is run by former adventure racing world champion and his wife, and it showed with a rad course which we could not complete before cutoff.
On Thursday I joined up with a new run group, formed by one of the guys who did last Saturday's Ben Lomond race. We ran around Fernhill Loop but deviated for a spicey descent down some guerilla downhill mountain bike trails. This is by far the quickest and most sure-footed running group I've been with. There were 6 of us - the same 6 that blitzed Ben Lomond last week - and I happily took the tail end. It's amazing how similar we all are.
Took yet another route up Brow Peak. When you think you've done them all...
Caught up with Aunty C, and continue to catch up with Dad who is still in town. We ate at Tanoshi last night. Love that place.
π Still reading Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin. I'm a slow reader, but I am loving this book. It reminds me of all the relationships in the Halt and Catch Fire TV series, but less toxic, and dives into them a bit deeper, as a book would.
π» Website updates - Split blog posts by year and month.
πΊ Watched Heretic (2024) - Not bad. Not one I'll probably ever watch again. Thought Hugh Grant did well playing a quirky psycho.
