Below is a list of things I want to get better at, and a couple projects I'll kick off that will teach me how to do it..

• System and network administration - I'm going to get some hardware - a rack, NAS server, and switch - and host a bunch of things for myself and family - media, file, image server, email/calendar? I really want to go down the path of TrueNAS and NextCloud, which will be where I learn all the good stuff.

• Database management - I'd like to get familiar with some tools to build, maintain and publish databases. I want to convert my crop log tools site, activities into proper consistently managed databases. I honesly don't know what DB tool to use. There are so many. MySQL?

• Website building - Yes I've got this one up and running using the Zola static site generator, some custom CSS and a bunch of other things, but I'd like to be a bit more effecient and whacking up new sites. I recently posted a list of website and blog building tools so I'll probably pick some things out of there and start a new site or two based on the above.

That's probably more than enough for now. I play in that space already, but I feel very beginner at it. Hopefully with some big projects I'll get more proficient and open a few more doors. Looking forward to it.
