Back to normality?

I'm back home just over a week now. After going from 40°C in Vietnam back down to 4°C, I've decided to let go of the belief I prefer the cold over the heat. My body just likes the heat more. On return, my skin dried up, fingers and lips started cracking again, joints started to ache. Harder to get out the door.

There is a Spring feel here though. Birds are chirping in the morning. Sun before I leave for work. Sun in the afternoon. There is a snow dump coming again this week. Weekend isn't looking great for the outdoors.

Some things carrying on from my holiday... I'm eating different. I loved all the freshly cooked meals I ate while away. I've scrapped my work lunch sandwich, and taking leftovers now. Much more enjoyable. Eating more veg now. My energy is higher too.

At the ripe ol age of 40 I've decided to date again. Yep. I haven't lifted a finger for 6 years. Had no real desire. I've been doing everything solo, exploring myself and my environment in my own way. My holiday gave me a nudge though. I want to share my experiences with someone willing to share theirs. Explore life as a team. I believe I'm ready now. Jumped a hurdle. Think I am actually worthy of being someone's partner. And more open to others.

I joined a dating app. As much as I'd like to be el natural and meet during my regular shananigans, it aint going to happen. I see and converse with more goats than I do people on weekends out in the hills. I mean I like goats, but... So, I matched with someone with feet, not hooves, and we had a "date" - hiked a hill. It seemed the appropriate amount of datey as we both get. It went well. We're either indoor rock climbing or skiing this weekend, depending on the weather rolling through. I read somewhere recently something along the lines of "common interests create bonds, differences forge growth". I'm done with growth on my own. We've got similarities for sure, that'll help us hit the ground running (literally). But the differences are what I'm excited about. We'll pick and weaeve those threads.

I'm studying hard now for my cabling and infrastructure exam in 2 weeks. It shouldn't be too hard, 100 multiple choice in 2 hours. But there is a lot of content to cover. I haven't looked at the content for a while, so a lot of refreshing. That's my spare time.

My knee feels shyte again. I didn't do my exercises while away so have probably lost all that was gained earlier. I'm working on a routine of runs, exercises, study, healthy eating and sleep.
